Do not stay in your house trapped, complaining about your upstairs neighbors that sound like Clydesdale horses in platforms. Unless you've got a lot to keep you busy and happy (all you happy crafters and artists, you know who you are), and you really like the sound of dressed up horses, otherwise, get out of your house. Find a park, you've always said you wanted to visit every time you see it on your drive to and from work. Or head to the beach, drive or take the bus. Buy the $5.00 day pass, that let's you go around local Los Angeles all day on most metro public transport and go anywhere ( http://www.experiencela.com/explore/adventure/LongBeach for mobile: http://metro.cscorp.com/ ) I like to the take the metro to the Labrea Tar Pits. Either the free park and gardens or Museum, $11.00, for adults ( http://www.tarpits.org). The Park and gardens are located on WILSHIRE blvd, and its freeeee. It's awesome because it's like going back in time, way back. Its a little park you can walk around located smack in the middle of Los Angeles and in the middle is a pool of raw tar, been here since before Mickey Rooney was famous or a child. They've been excavating forever and it's still going on and they are discovering bones of all kinds and types of extinct animals. If you've never been, you have to go at least once. You'd be surprised how many things people don't do in Los Angeles, because they have lived in Los Angeles all their life and don't think this local stuff is cool because it's just that; local. Also, It's free and it's in LA so you could probably get the best churro of your life from a street vendor that also will sell you a spider-man balloon. Fun. Warning though, this is natural and raw tar and it does seep outside of the pit, so do not get on clothes, watch where you sit and/or lean on. Cool, now: Get out of your house. Next to the. LACMA museum. Take a picture of yourself next to a tar pit on your camera phone. Then send it to everyone. Let them know what they are missing. Are you ready?
